Evening of chocolate to benefit Animal Protectors

Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley will host, “Chocolate Paws,” an evening of chocolate from 6 to 9 p.m. March 26 at River Forest Country Club, Allegheny Township.

The Murphy’s Music Jazz Band will entertain, and there will be appetizers, gift bags, chocolate desserts, a cash bar, basket auction and 50/50 raffle.

Volunteers needed at cat rescue

Kiski Valley Cat and Kitten Rescue is seeking volunteers to help at the shelter, located in Allegheny Township.

The rescue is dedicated to the prevention of cruelty and neglect toward cats and kittens and provides shelter and medical care until they find their forever home. Duties may include cleaning and replenishing food and water bowls, cleaning litter boxes, floors and enclosures, organizing, picking up supplies and playing with the animals.

Grief support group offered in Leechburg

First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Leechburg, will sponsor a GriefShare support group for anyone who has lost a loved one from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays March 21 to June 6 in the church sanctuary, 358 Main St.

A special program, “Surviving the Loss of a Spouse,” will be at 2 p.m. March 13 in the church. Masks will be required, and social distancing observed. Christian women’s group to meet
