MENDENHALL, Miss. (WJTV) – The Simpson County Specialized Heart (SCTC) plans to open up a garden after getting a $119,814 grant from the Blue Cross & Blue Protect of Mississippi Foundation.
The grant was awarded to the college just after Agriculture and Natural Means Instructor Patricia Braddock utilized for the grant in an work to revamp and expand the school’s present greenhouses.
Braddock stated the school strategies to renovate three greenhouses, open a germination chamber, start off a vineyard and purchase aquaponics and hydroponics devices. She stated that when the project is concluded, her and her college students will be in a position to expand crops like spinach, squash, zucchini, tomatoes and pumpkins that will be bought at area farmer’s marketplaces and donated to the group.
