Minimized hours pilot program at Alki Seashore, Golden Gardens

SEATTLE — Seattle’s Alki Seaside and Golden Gardens will have lowered hours this summer.

The shortened hours are currently being tested by Seattle Parks and Recreation to address “hazardous and/or illegal conduct” that has been reported in the summertime evenings at the two parks.

The beach hours will be 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. from Might 27 to Sept. 4. 

Seattle Parks staff members, assisted by Seattle law enforcement officers, will start off closing the seashores down commencing at 9:30 p.m.
