LYNCHBURG, Va. – Lynchburg City Schools declared its Teacher of the Year Tuesday — and the winner is from Heritage Significant College!
Cathy Drumheller obtained the exclusive shock in entrance of a room total of her colleagues.
The Lynchburg native graduated from Heritage and has put in the previous 17 yrs instructing in LCS.
Drumheller teaches 9th and 10th-quality biology and claims she found out her like for training by the educators she experienced developing up.
“I get nervous in items like this. It was overwhelming to walk [up on stage], but exciting at the similar time,” reported Drumheller.
“She’s impressive, she’s imaginative, she goes right after grants. She has this stunning hydroponics lab in her classroom, just generally hoping some thing distinct to curiosity kids and develop their discovering,” said Dr. Crystal Edwards, LCS superintendent.
Just about every Hill Town school nominates just one trainer, and then the winner is picked by a committee.
