MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – Learners at Washington Elementary in Mankato are introducing a homegrown element to their college lunches.
This morning, pupils harvested lettuce from their “Flex Farm” which is a hydroponic backyard that is operate on water and vitamins.
Just about every two months they plant lettuce seeds and then transfer them into the device when they are ready to grow extra.
At the time the process is performed, then they harvest the vegetable to be eaten in their faculty lunches.
The young children get to support from the starting to the conclusion and now they harvested 16 lbs of lettuce for lunch which will be tacos.
