Grasp Gardeners announce Spring Plant Sale | No cost


SPOONER – North State Master Gardener volunteers have declared their yearly Spring Plant Sale, which is pre-buy only, with pickup on Saturday, May possibly 21, from 8 a.m. to midday.

This year’s plant sale will have a “twist” from prior years, as the team is requesting pre-orders from February by means of Could 1 or right until provides are sold out. There will be a new pickup area at the City of Spooner Entrance Street community parking great deal (north of the Canoe Heritage Museum) on Could 21.

Precise tomato versions are beef steak, Cherokee purple, early female, German Johnson, Sungold and sweet Valentine container.

Particular pepper varieties are early jalapeno (heirloom), large Marconi (2001 AAS winner), King of the North, new ace, ruby king (heirloom) and Wisconsin lakes.

The pollinator assortment has native perennial plants, wild lupine, butterfly weed, black-eyed Susan, New England asters, swamp milkweed and blazing star liatris.

The herb assortment has 6 herbs for the senses: thyme, rosemary, giant from Italy parsley, Genovese essential, garlic chives and bouquet dill.

The proceeds go towards supporting the Educating and Display Garden that is open to the public on Orchard Lane, just east of the Ag Research Station for garden-associated grants advertising and marketing horticulture outreach and education and learning in Washburn, Sawyer and Burnett counties and other horticultural initiatives.
