Chatham Large Faculty receives Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom grant | News


CHATHAM, Va.  — On Wednesday, Oct. 27, Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom awarded 61 grants in 42 Virginia localities for the 2021-22 college calendar year, which include Chatham Higher College.

The grants will present 20,000 youth in city and rural regions with agriculture activities relevant to gardening, animal agriculture, nutrition, STEM and leadership enhancement. These grants and the initiatives they assistance also support youth achieve a improved understanding of food stuff production and job prospects in the agriculture area.

“Grant programs for 2021 reflected the return to in-human being studying,” said Tammy Maxey, Virginia AITC packages director. “Projects represented a broad variety of plant and animal instructional projects—from generating urban gardens to learning to grow foods by means of hydroponics to animal treatment assignments for both of those little and significant animals. We are delighted to have illustration from pre-K by means of 12th quality educators from across the commonwealth.”

Chatham acquired a slice of $30,000 in state grant funding.
