Abu Dhabi awards $84m deal for developing two farms


The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Protection Authority (ADAFSA) has signed two Musataha contracts with two area personal sector organizations to build and operate two farms, a single in Al Ain and the other in Abu Dhabi, with a complete value of all around AED310 million ($84.3 million).

 

The very first Musataha agreement was signed with Emirates Hydroponics Farms to make and operate a hydroponic farm for the output of greens, fruits, and mushrooms for canning in a managed natural environment at a complete investment decision of AED260 million. The farm positioned in the Abu Dhabi region will come up on a 325,000 sq m location.

 

ADAFSA said the 2nd Musataha agreement was signed with the Emirates International Agricultural State-of-the-art Business for the establishment and operation of a farm for the manufacturing of veggies and fruits in the technique of web properties, in addition to the expanding of azola and jojoba vegetation and fish farming (Aquaponic). 

 

The Al Ain farm will arrive up on a 750,000 sq m place at price of about AED50 million. 

 

The generation of this farm supports the foods protection program in the UAE and strengthens the ADAFSA’s initiatives to produce and modernise the agriculture sector in Abu Dhabi and accomplish its sustainability.
