The Fresno Memorial Gardens held its 59th yearly Memorial Day Services.
Neighborhood military services corporations laid wreaths at the mock tomb.
Diane Durando laid a wreath along with the Daughters of the Groundbreaking War.
Her father and stepfather both served in the Navy and fought in World War II.
“We have our freedom, our right to chat, go where we please and these adult men and gals gave that to us,” reported Durando.
Huge American flags lined the cemetery.
Each individual just one marked in memory of a military member who built the greatest sacrifice.
Volunteers set them up and choose them down every Memorial Working day.
Tracy Pacheco says her father, Bill Gonzalez, often served with the flags.
He served in the Army and fought in Vietnam.
He died past year, so this year, she attended the support in his put.
“Now that he is not here, I just sense like we require to honor him and just do whichever we can,” Pacheco mentioned.
A quartet gave a choral salute to just about every department of the military services and individuals who served were being questioned to stand in the course of their respective anthem.
Congressman Jim Costa was in attendance and aided dedicate the avenue of flags to this year’s honoree.
He also thanked those who sacrificed for our liberties and the families they remaining at the rear of.
“When we communicate about the sacrifices, the best sacrifices that we honor currently, we really should hardly ever forget about the families who have been a component of that sacrifice,” Costa reported.
The flags ended up pulled down Monday afternoon.
They will be folded up and stored till future years’ service.
