22-year-previous scholar pioneers hydroponic farming in Rwanda

Marie Aline Iraguha, a 22-yr-previous young female university student now second year African Management College, has overwhelmed the odds by founding AliFarms Team Ltd, an agribusiness that focuses on developing fruits and vegetables with the mission of empowering youth by means of sustainable agriculture.

At this time, she is in trials of investing in hydroponic farming engineering with fruits and veggies. “I normally desired to do one thing I like but at the exact same time supplying back again to my local community, so I observed my enthusiasm in agriculture,” she reported. “In 2018, I did my first hydroponic technique exactly where we grew lettuce and it was extremely profitable as it was our first prototype for proof of thought. In 2021, I built the next system where by we grew Strawberries and the objective was prior to financial commitment,” she explained. So considerably she has developed lettuce and strawberries adding there are other types of crops that can be developed like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, watercress, spinach, celery and some herbs.
